In Compliance with the Official Language Policy of Govt of India, the Official Languages Act., 1963 and the Official Languages Rules, 1976, a Hindi Cell is established under DESSH in RIEM.
The Hindi cell is the administrative unit of Regional Institute of Education which deals with promotion and implementation of Hindi as the Official Language. Major activities of the Hindi cell are:

Implementation of Official Languages Policy

This include achieving the targets of Annual Programme for transacting the Official work of the Union in Hindi, to monitor internal progress of the Institute regarding use of Hindi in submitting quarterly progress report and preparation for inspections by MHRD, Ministry of Home Affairs and Parliamentary Committee on Official Languages.

Translation

Translation of Annual Report, Annual Accounts, Prospectus, Convocation related work and all other circulars/orders/Official correspondences as and when required is taken up by the cell.

Hindi Pakhwada celebration

Hindi Pakhwada celebration is organised for 15 days every year by the Hindi Cell where students and RIE employees participate in different extracurricular activities like competitions, quiz, essay writing, translation, poetry writing, debate etc.

Hindi Typing/Stenography/Language training/workshops for staff are organised to motivate them to do their Official work in Hindi. Scientific and Technical Seminars/Workshops for Research Scholars and faculty are conducted to promote technical writing in Hindi.
